A True Classic

Hello AGAIN My Crafty Friends!

I know!  I know!  Two posts from me in one day is COMPLETELY unheard of but I hope you can get used to it because it will be happening on a regular basis.  ;)

I made this card for my father-in-law's 85th birthday.  We're going to celebrate with dinner out at a restaurant of his choice.  He's already griping because us non-birthday attendees are paying for his dinner and he's arguing that he can pay for his own dinner.  Sigh!

Here I've used the Edwin's Oldsmobile and Barbed Wire Background stamps from the Magnolia 2012 Summer Memories collection.  I've colored them with my Copic Markers (of course) and did the clouds and edges with Distress Inks.  The Happy Birthday dies are from Cheery Lynn.

I'm hoping to show from this angle that I used Diamond Glaze to make the windshield and headlamps look like glass.  My father-in-law was born and raised in Illinois and so I Googled license plates from that year and state and made this one to look like them, black with white lettering and trim.  My husband told me that he remembers his dad owning a blue Oldsmobile back in the 60's.

Here is another angle to show that I made the car with 5 layers.

Copic Markers - Car: B0000, B000, B00, B01, B02, E08, E13, E18, E19, W1, W3, 0  Chrome: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9  Fence: E42, E43, E44, E47, C3  Ground: E31, E74, E79, W1, W3  Grass: YG95, YG97, G94, G99  Flowers: V05, V06, V09  Butterflies: Y38, YR31, E18

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.  (I really do appreciate them).  A special Thank You to my blog followers.  I hope you have a great day and better tomorrows!
