Our Friendship is Soda-lightful

Good Day To You My Crafty Friends and Welcome!

Today I am showing my latest card using one of my favorite Magnolia stamps.

This little darling is Pink Lemonade Tilda and I have colored her with my Copic Markers.  She is accented with some Stickles on her pants and hair ribbon.  I've added Glossy accents to her sunglasses and the soda glass and I used Perfect Pearls on the bubbles in her glass to mimic the pearls I used for the bubbles all around her.  I used Opaque White to add dots to her blouse but you cannot see them in the photos.

Here is the inside of the card where I've completed the sentiment .  I've used a lot of DooHickeys Dies: Lace Coaster, Rounded Frames & Tags, Bunny Tail from Club #8, Frame from Box #1

More DooHickeys:  Recipe Card, Rose Leaf, Tilda Tag, Flowers from Club #5

I made the soda bottle charm with silver embossing powder.

Copic Markers - Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E4, E11, E21, R20  Hair: E21, E23, E25, E27, E29  Soda: R83, BG70, BG75, G20, G43, YG67, N0, N2, N4  Blouse: C1, C3, Opaque White  Pants & Hair Ribbon: RV10, R83, R85  Shoes & Sunglasses: Y11, Y13, Y15, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9

Kendall Turns 7

Good Day To You My Creative Friends!

I know, long time no see, huh?  Oh my goodness!  My husband and I decided to take advantage of a Memorial Day sale and purchased new flooring for our living room, dining room and kitchen.  (What we had was 30 years old and really gross).  That one purchase kicked off one heck of a renovation.  We decided to paint too and found that we needed to repair a wall and part of the ceiling from water damage sustained before putting the new roof on.  While we were replacing studs and drywall, why not put in a fireplace?  There had already been one there before, how hard could it be? o_O  So all new paint, baseboards, doors, knobs, curtains, rods, light switches, outlets, covers, an area rug, is just the tip of the iceberg to name some of the extra purchases.  We're not even close to done but it already looks so different.  Anyway, this project has taken up all of my time when I'm not at work so card making has been on the back burner but, oh, how I've been missing it.

I did manage to get a little something done for my sweet niece Kendall.  This is my first pocket page and I hope you all like it.

I ran out of time and did not get to take photos of my project out of the pockets, but you get the general idea here.  I used lots of beautiful Magnolia dies and this sweet stamp called Have Dinner With Me Tilda.

Here is a close-up of the cake from the DooHickeys Club Volume 5

I free-handed the beverage cup but used several Magnolia dies for accents.  On the back side of this panel I included a Starbucks gift card so Kendall could have her favorite treat, Lemon Cake and an ice cold Milk.

Copic Markers - Skin: E0000, E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, R20  Blouse & Bow: BG07  Roses: R37  Leaves: G46  Hair: YR21, YR31, E35, E37

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you are having a wonderful summer and I will see you again real soon.

For My Mom

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!

Today I am showing you the card I made for my mom for Mother's day.

Each year, for the past several, I've made my mom a card with a gardening theme.  Of course, I wouldn't want to break tradition and that being said I have once again used my beloved Magnolia stamps and dies.  This little sweetie is Tilda Working In The Garden from the 2016 Sea Side collection.  I've colored her with Copic Markers and Distress Inks.

Most of the dies I've used are Magnolia DooHickeys.  For the background I have used Recipe Card.  The branches with little leaves are from the Sakura Lanterns set and the larger leaves are Rose Leaves.  Around the edge of the kraft I used the lace die from the DooHickey Club vol. 9 collection.

The beautiful bright flowers are Recollections.  I have spattered the whole card with Gesso.

Here you can see better, the lace I made with the DooHickey lace die and crinoline fabric.

For the inside of the card I used a sentiment and a heart die from Magnolia #3 Vintage Box.

Copic Markers - Face: E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, R20  Hair: E25, E30, E31, E33, E79  Shirt & Apron: YG03, YG11, YG25, YG67, G24, G28, G29  Gloves & Kerchief: RV10, R83, R85, R89  Boots: Y17, YR14, YR24, YT27, YR31
Distress Inks: Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Some of the supplies used and not mentioned above are listed at the bottom of this post.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Mother's Day!

Easter Tags

Good Morning To You, My Creative Friends!

I hope your weekend is going well and seeing as how it's Sunday, Easter is only a week away.  Do you have any Easter plans?  We're having breakfast at our house with my older daughter and her family and my mom and dad-in-law.  Apple fritters, bacon, sausage, deviled eggs and turnovers are on the menu.  Yum, I can't wait!  We're also having an egg hunt in the back yard for my grandsons and I'm putting together baskets for everyone.  Which leads me to...

These sweet shaker tags, which I made to hang on the Easter baskets.  For the ladies' baskets anyway...  After I had finished this one I realized I had to come up with a design for the boys.

VIOLA!  I thought it would be fun to make these look like chocolate and, no glitter or bows for my manly men.
All of my die cuts are Magnolia DooHickeys from various club editions and then the Brides Bow.  For the egg frame I traced a cookie cutter.  Everything is colored and shaded using distress Inks Spun Sugar, Mowed Lawn, Gathered Twigs and Spiced Marmalade.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have a wonderful day and better tomorrows.

Kelly's 40th

Hi There!  Laura here to share my latest make, a 40th birthday card for my little sister.

This is Tilda With Armful Of Flowers by Magnolia.  The base of the card and the postage stamp layer are made with the Cricut machine.  I'm using Nitwit Design papers.

I've used DooHickeys Dies for the flowers, leaves and balloons.  The large flowers are the leaves from the strawberry die the small brown flowers are from the club #9 the green leaves are club #7, the stem cut outs are from club #12 and balloons are club #5.

The circle and scallop circle are Spellbinder dies and the little heart on the balloon is from a La La Land banner.

Here is the inside.  The cake is DooHickeys club #5.

These are Tilda's Tags and the numbers are Sizzix.

Copic Markers = Face: E0000, E000, E00, E4, E11, E21, R20  Hair: YR21, YR31, E35, E37  Blouse: R000, R01, R22, R24, C1  Pants: BG0000, BG18, BG70  Shoes: W1, W3, W5  Flowers: R22, R24, R29, G40, G43, G94  Basket: YR24, YR27, E39

Dad's 87th

I've been such a bad blogger!

I do apologize for not posting.  February and March are the months I make the most cards for birthdays and anniversaries and as soon as I finish one, I start a new one and then forget to photograph. Ugh!  It's so frustrating when I've already sent it or given it and then find out it isn't in my camera.

Anyway, I did remember a few so I would like to start with this one that I made for my father in law's 87th birthday.

No stamped images for this one, just lots of delicious dies.  The cake and stand are from the DooHickeys Club Volume 5 and the candles are from Club Volume 12.

The 87 was cut using a Sizzix die by Brenda Walton.

Happy Birthday to You is from Lawn Fawn.

The shaker was made with a spellbinders die that I have no idea what the name is and I'm too lazy to look up.  :P

All of the dies are either colored or edged with Distress Inks.  I used Faded Jeans, Fired Brick, Spiced Marigold, Wild Honey & Vintage Photo.

Thank You so much for stopping by and taking a look.  I will be posting another birthday card that I made for my sister as soon as I know she has received it.  Have an awesome day and better tomorrows.

A Thank You for Rico

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Welcome Back!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season.

I have been on my usual fall hiatus due to my work schedule but now that things have settled down I am so excited to be crafting again.  I was having a hard time getting fired back up until I saw a gorgeous layout buy a super talented lady on one of the design blogs.  I just fell in love with her style and was inspired to try some new things so I actually scrap-lifted some ideas from her.  Of course I don't have a 10th of her talent but am still loving how this card came out.

The stamp is Divine Tilda, by Magnolia of Sweden, colored with Copic Markers.  The frame around her was traced from a Spellbinders die and cut by hand.  I then used a clear crackle medium called One Step Crackle by DecoArt and then brushed over it with Recolections glitter paint in Chocolate.

The fence, honeycomb, sunflower, branches and leaves are DooHickeys dies by Magnolia.  The fence and honeycomb were crackled and painted like the frame.  I then added some prills to the honeycomb and branches.

I die cut the words several times and glued them together to give them some dimension and then went over them with Distress Ink.

Here you can see the crackle effect a little bit better.  I've seen how much nicer the Tim Holtz crackle looks and have ordered it to replace this brand.  Oops!  I totally forgot to add the Wink of Stella to the bee's wings before taking the pictures...

Copic Markers:  Skin: E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, R20  Hair: E21, E25, E27, E29  Dress: YR21, YR24, YR30, YR31, G21, G85  Boots: E51, E53, E57, E59  Background: B32, B34, B91, G21, G85
Distress Inks:  Walnut Stain, Rusty Hinge

Thank You for stopping and taking a look.  I look forward to seeing you again soon.  Have a great day, and better tomorrows.

♥ Laura C.
