Santa Edwin Lantern

Good Thursday Morning My Crafting Friends!

Today I am posting my first lantern project.  The lantern itself took a while to get together but I believe the results are well worth it.  You can insert a battery operated candle into it and display it proudly or fill it with candy and give as a gift.  (I say put the candle at the bottom and then fill it with candy so that when the receiver finishes the treats, they can then display it).
Thank You So Much For Stopping By Today!

Zombie Tilda

Happy Tuesday My Crafty Friends!

I absolutely LOVE this time of year because living in Arizona means it's almost always too hot to do anything but swim.  But come October, the temperatures drop below 100 degrees and all of my pent up energy wants out and to get things done.  On top of that, YAY, the hubster is now full time at our own shop which means that I have time to do what I love to do again.  CRAFT!!!

I'm excited to get working on Christmas projects but I just had to squeeze in a little something for Halloween.  Here is sweet Tilda ariving at the party to scare the pants off everyone but, of course, she is just too cute to spook anyone.
This little goodie bag will hold some treats for that extra special trick-or-treater.
Thank you so much for stopping by today.  The challenges I would like to enter are listed below and a supply list is at the bottom of the post.  Your comments make my day and are very much appreciated.

Have a happy and safe Halloween!
Laura C.

Heartfelt Christmas

Hello Sweet Friends!  I hope this post finds you all healthy and happy.

I've been working on this card for almost two weeks.  Finding time to craft has been dodgy because of my hubby going back to his regular job for a little while, but he's put in his notice and will be working for our own shop as soon as they find his replacement.  THEN I will have more time for crafting and I'm very excited about that.  Anyway, here is my latest creation:
This is Joyful Tilda and she is serving up some love (and cookies) for her family and friends on Christmas Day.  I just love this stamp!
I don't make easel cards very often but I felt this one needed to be.  I also went with non-traditional colors and that is very difficult for me.  I am such a stickler for tradition in almost all things that stepping outside of my box causes me to panic a little bit.  Oh, and procrastinate.  :p
I found this beautiful sentiment stamp at my local craft store and knew it could be used for so many occasions...
Here is an extra little surprise, a peek-a-boo card.  It's like a little hidden treasure.
I think this will be a great way to give a gift card, because sometimes you just get a gift card in a boring old envelope and it isn't as much fun.  This will make it so much more special.

Thank You So Much for stopping by and taking a peek!  Comments are always welcome and appreciated.  The challenges I'm entering are listed below and my supply list is at the bottom of this post.  Have a wonderful day!

My Friend Darla

Hello My Sweet Blogging Friends!

It feels like it's been forever since I last made a card and posted.  There has been so much going on between the last post and this one!  My husband and I bought an auto painting business and while he is still at his regular job, I've been running the show at the new place.  By the time I get home, I am exhausted.  Last Friday, my husband had hernia surgery and has been hanging out at our shop this week so I was actually able to sneak in a little bit of crafting time while he answered phone calls and did estimates.  :)

I made this card for my dear friend Darla.  Her and I only just met each other this year, but we realized right off that we have so much in common and think so much alike.  We're always joking about how everything in life is so much better with wine...

I colored up this little cutie, Tilda with Love Potion, with my Copics and did up the card to enter a few challenges.  To celebrate the Fall season, I have pulled the flowers and fall leaves from my stash of paper crafting goodies.  I think they go quite nicely with the striped paper...

Here is the sentiment on the inside.

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.  That always makes my day!

By The Beautiful Sea

Happy Friday my crafty friends!  I hope you've had a good week and have some fun plans for the weekend.

I have for you today, a card I made to fit a bunch of challenges that focused on things like beach, water, fun in the sun...  All of that summery stuff that most people look forward if they don't live in the desert southwest like I do.  Give me clouds and weather any day!  LOL!

This is Water Lily Tilda and she is from the 2012 Summer Memories collection. This is my first time coloring her up since I got her from Cathy Lee's blog candy a while back. Thank You Cathy Lee!
I've colored her up with my Copic Markers and have done all of the edges with Distress Inks.  For the background I printed the words from the song BY THE BEAUTIFUL SEA (From the musical "For Me and My Gal" Harold Atteridge / Harry Carroll 1914) onto white cardstock.  Then I cut that into a seashell shape on my Cricut and stamped flowers and leaves with acrylic paints.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink and added pearls to the flower centers.  The palm tree is also cut from the Cricut.
I then punched waves of kraft and two shades of aqua and tied it together with a bow of natural cording and a little starfish charm.
I added sand from my grandson's sandbox to the base of the palm tree for that beach feel.  I made the flowers with my dies and punches and tucked a little seashell within them.
Here is a close-up of this little darling.  This was my first time coloring curly hair and despite the fact that I forgot to add highlights, I think it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.  :D

Thank You SO Much for stopping by and I really do appreciate your lovely comments.  All of the products I used are listed at the bottom of this post.  Have a great day and better tomorrows!

A Little Christmas In July

Hello My Dear Crafting and Blogging Friends!

It has been exactly 8 weeks since I last crafted and posted a card and I've missed it so much.  I've gotten a little too busy with planning my youngest daughter's wedding, which is next March, and it's amazing how fast the time is flying.  I have been quite sick with Strep and then a nasty cold for the past 11 days and so once I could function somewhat normally again, decided I would cheer myself up with some card making.

So I have for you today Edwin With Sack from the 2012 Magnolia Christmas Story Collection, paired up with the Snowy Roof (from the same collection).
One of my favorite Christmastime songs is "Up On The Housetop" and that was the inspiration for my card.  I colored with my Copics and then got a little crazy with the glitter.
I mixed up a glue and paint concoction to make a sort of texture medium for the fur on Edwin's coat and also for the snowy accents on the poinsettia and snowflakes, then added more glitter.
This is the first time I've used my Spellbinder's Poinsettia dies and I LOVE them!  I've also used the Sizzix Snow Flurries die by Tim Holtz and the MS Branch Punch.
For the finishing touches I added jingle bells to the ribbon bows, pearls to my snowflakes and poinsettia and then stamped my sentiment.
This is the sketch I followed from Papertake Weekly, only I flipped it.
Have you all noticed that some of the craft stores are putting in their Christmas merchandise already?  I don't know about you, but that makes my heart skip a beat in anticipation.  Oh, and the brochure for the Hallmark Ornament Premier just arrived.  Woo Hoo!  Our temps have been around 115 F, and there is no sign of it letting up soon, but the thought of Christmastime and "cooler" weather lifts my spirits, so a shopping I will go.

I very much appreciate you stopping by and taking a look.  If you have a few extra seconds, I would love for you to leave a comment.  Take care, have a great day and better tomorrows!

Mom-In-Law's Birthday

Hello My Crafty Friends!  I hope you had a great weekend and your week is starting out good too.

I have for you today the card I made for the Twist Of Faith Cards challenge blog design team.  This week we're being sponsored by Lacy Sunshine and they are offering, to the randomly drawn winner, $20 worth of images - winner's choice.  We will also be drawing two runners up (1 person to receive 2 images of their choice and 1 person to receive one image of their choice).  So for this challenge we will have 3 drawn winners and the chosen Top 3.
I made this card with my mother-in-law, Jean, in mind because her birthday is coming up soon and she loves flowers.

I know this has been a short post but the husband will be home in a bit and there is no way I can get anything crafty done then so I'm gonna scoot.  Thank you so very much for stopping by and for the lovely comments.  Have a great day and better tomorrows!

♥ Ya!
