Cookies For Santa

Good Morning to you!

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation, Cookies For Santa.  I'll tell ya, this isn't anywhere near what this card was supposed to look like but I must say that I'm still happy with it just the same.  Some time this holiday season, I hope to get the original idea put together.

I made this card to represent our theme for this week's challenge over at the GGSC Challenge Blog which is FOOD.  OH, THE POSSIBILITIES...!  Since I'm so stoked about this holiday season (I do have two grandsons to spoil, after all) I jumped on the chance to do another Christmas card.
Here is Birthday Tilda offering up, not cake but, Christmas Cookies made especially for Santa.  I masked the cake when stamping my image and replaced it with little handmade cookies that I made using mini punches.  I used my brand new Spellbinders' Floral Ovals, behind Tilda, and embossed with Snow powder.  I got a little crazy with that stuff and put it all over the place, including myself.  LOL!  I have distressed and sewn my two designer papers and sandwiched a piece of cheesecloth between them.  I thought,
"cheesecloth... cooking... baking... food... WORKS FOR ME!".  More of what I used to make this card can be found at the bottom of the post.

As of today, it is exactly three months to Christmas Day!  Just thought I would throw that out there so you can be just as flipped out about it as I am.  Have a great day and better tomorrows!

Birthday Emboss

Hey There!  How's it going?!  Another Good Tuesday Morning To Ya!

Is it really Tuesday already?  It is, and that means a new challenge is going on over at Going Grey with Scrap Creations and this week's challenge is EMBOSSING.  Either dry embossing, as I have done on my DT card, or heat embossing.  You can even do both!  So head on over to the GGSC and take a look at what my extremely talented teamies have created this week and maybe even join in on the challenge.

So, I have for you today the card I created for the challenge and just so happens to work into my plans for one of the cards I am making for my mother, only it's not for her.  ???  Recently, mom asked me for a set of handmade cards that she could send out for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, sympathy, etc...  I need to make the cards simple, easy to send, and in bulk.  This simple but cheerful and feminine card is the first design.

I started out by printing the pretty cake design on white cardstock and using an oval template to trace around the image for a little more oomph.  I used my dies to cut the oval in the pink cardstock and a scalloped oval for the white and then embossed the swirl design.  It's important to emboss after die cutting because doing it the opposite way will smash your embossed design flat.  The "Happy Birthday" was stamped onto the gingham ribbon and cut to fit.

Now that this initial one is finished, I can make a bunch more in assembly-line fashion.  The masculine version will be a chocolate cake, matted with brown and then topped with an embossed design that says Happy Birthday in all different directions, shapes and sizes.  I will post that one when it's done.  The inside sentiment for both versions is, "birthdays are nature's way of telling you to eat more cake".

Let It Snow

A Good Tuesday Morning to you!  Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting me Out In The Craft Shed!

I have for you today, a little something I whipped up for the Going Grey with Scrap Creations Challenge Blog that I'm calling Let It Snow.  This weeks challenge is to Pick 3 and the three I chose for my DT card are Blue - Glitter - Die Cut/Punch.
This beautiful little angel is by Magnolia Stamps and she is called Starlight Tilda.  She is supposed to have a star at the top of that wand but I substituted a snowflake to show that she is the one making the snowflakes that are falling down to earth.  This is a regular sized Tilda and not a mini, so this project is 12" tall and I've decided that it will decorate one of my walls this holiday season.

Here is a close-up of sweet Tilda:

Raspberry House

Good morning! I hope you had a most fabulous weekend and that your week is off to an awesome start!

Today is Tuesday and that means a new challenge is under way at the Twist Of Faith Card Challenge Blog.  For our challenge #2 the subject is COMFORT and here is my DT creation using one of the many gorgeous digital stamps from this week's sponsor, Beccy's Place.

Raspberry House is the image I have chosen because home means comfort to me.  It's where we gather with our family and bask in the warmth of heart and hearth.  I have printed the image three times and colored different areas with my Copic markers, cutting out the colored pieces and layering them for a dimensional appearance.

The scripture I have chosen to use, in part, is from Paul's letter to the Romans 15:4; For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.

Our sponsor, Beccy's Place is giving away THREE of their amazing images to one lucky winner and the design team has made a bunch of gorgeous creations for your inspiration, so be sure to check them out as well by visiting the Twist Of Faith Blog.

YUM! Delicious!

Hello again my Crafty Friends!  I am excited to tell you that I have been asked to be part of another design team called Going Grey with Scrap Creations.  How cool is that?  I have been entering challenges at GGSC for some time now and have even made top 3 once.  This week, the challenge is Humor.  I hope you can see the humor in that little guy on the right taking a hunk out of his neighbor.

I just love working with paper and paper piecing is is so much fun for me!  I used wavy scissors to make the gingerbread's frosting and simple hole punches for the eyes.  The cookie sheet is two different shades of grey paper with the corners rounded and I used burnt umber paint to give it a rusty look.  I have listed all of the products I've used down below.

Thank you so very much for stopping by.  Please leave a comment at the bottom of this post and check out my other posts if you haven't yet.
